📖 Lesson 8 · Pronoun
सर्वनाम
Lesson – 8
Pronoun (सर्वनाम)
सर्वनाम वह शब्द है जो किसी संज्ञा (Noun) के स्थान पर प्रयोग किया जाता है। जैसे – राम एक अच्छा लड़का है। वह पढ़ता है। यहाँ 'वह' सर्वनाम है जो 'राम' संज्ञा के स्थान पर आया है।
A pronoun is a word that is used in place of a Noun. For example – Ram is a good boy. He studies. Here 'He' is a pronoun that replaces the noun 'Ram'.
बिना सर्वनाम के हमें हर वाक्य में संज्ञा को बार-बार दोहराना पड़ता, जिससे भाषा बोझिल हो जाती। सर्वनाम भाषा को सरल, सुंदर और प्रभावी बनाते हैं।
Without pronouns, we would have to repeat nouns again and again in every sentence, making the language heavy and clumsy. Pronouns make the language simple, beautiful and effective.
वे सर्वनाम जो व्यक्ति (Person) का बोध कराते हैं, Personal Pronoun कहलाते हैं।
Pronouns that denote a person are called Personal Pronouns.
जब कर्ता (Subject) और कर्म (Object) एक ही व्यक्ति होते हैं, तो प्रयोग होने वाले सर्वनाम को Reflexive Pronoun कहते हैं।
When the Subject and the Object refer to the same person, the pronoun used is called a Reflexive Pronoun.
Example: I hurt myself. (मैंने स्वयं को चोट पहुँचाई।) – Subject और Object दोनों 'I' हैं।
Example: She taught herself. (उसने स्वयं को पढ़ाया।)
वे सर्वनाम जो किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु की ओर संकेत करते हैं, Demonstrative Pronoun कहलाते हैं।
Pronouns that point to a specific person or thing are called Demonstrative Pronouns.
Example: This is my pen. (यह मेरा पेन है।)
Example: Those are my books. (वे मेरी किताबें हैं।)
वे सर्वनाम जो अनिश्चित व्यक्ति या वस्तु का बोध कराते हैं, Indefinite Pronoun कहलाते हैं।
Pronouns that refer to unspecified persons or things are called Indefinite Pronouns.
Example: Someone is knocking at the door. (कोई दरवाज़ा खटखटा रहा है।)
Example: Nothing is impossible. (कुछ भी असंभव नहीं है।)
वे सर्वनाम जो किसी समूह के प्रत्येक सदस्य को अलग-अलग दर्शाते हैं, Distributive Pronoun कहलाते हैं।
Pronouns that refer to each member of a group individually are called Distributive Pronouns.
Example: Each of the students has a book. (प्रत्येक छात्र के पास एक किताब है।)
Example: Either of the two answers is correct. (दोनों उत्तरों में से कोई एक सही है।)
वे सर्वनाम जो दो वाक्यों को जोड़ते हैं और पहले आए संज्ञा (Antecedent) का संबंध दिखाते हैं, Relative Pronoun कहलाते हैं।
Pronouns that join two sentences and relate to a noun (Antecedent) that appears before are called Relative Pronouns.
Example: I know the boy who won the prize. (मैं उस लड़के को जानता हूँ जिसने पुरस्कार जीता।)
Example: This is the book which I read. (यह वह किताब है जो मैंने पढ़ी।)
वे सर्वनाम जिनका प्रयोग प्रश्न पूछने के लिए किया जाता है, Interrogative Pronoun कहलाते हैं।
Pronouns used to ask questions are called Interrogative Pronouns.
Example: Who is that girl? (वह लड़की कौन है?)
Example: What is your name? (तुम्हारा नाम क्या है?)
जब दो या दो से अधिक व्यक्ति एक-दूसरे के साथ परस्पर क्रिया करते हैं, तो प्रयोग होने वाले सर्वनाम को Reciprocal Pronoun कहते हैं।
When two or more persons perform an action mutually with each other, the pronoun used is called a Reciprocal Pronoun.
Example: The two friends helped each other. (दोनों दोस्तों ने एक-दूसरे की मदद की।)
Example: The students helped one another. (सभी छात्रों ने एक-दूसरे की मदद की।)
जब Reflexive Pronoun का प्रयोग जोर देने के लिए होता है, तो वह Emphatic Pronoun कहलाता है।
When a Reflexive Pronoun is used for emphasis, it is called an Emphatic Pronoun.
Example: I myself did this. (मैंने स्वयं यह किया।) – यहाँ 'myself' जोर देने के लिए है, कर्म नहीं।
Example: The President himself came. (राष्ट्रपति स्वयं आये।)
⚠️ ध्यान दें: Reflexive और Emphatic Pronoun का रूप एक जैसा होता है, परंतु प्रयोग अलग है। Reflexive में Subject और Object एक ही होते हैं, जबकि Emphatic में Object नहीं होता, केवल जोर देने के लिए प्रयोग होता है।
⚠️ Note: The form of Reflexive and Emphatic Pronoun is the same, but the usage is different. In Reflexive, the Subject and Object are the same, whereas in Emphatic, there is no Object; it is used only for emphasis.
