Ans. He said that he would go the
next day.

Ans. She asked me if I should
listen to her.
3. He said to him, “please wait here till I return.”
Ans. He requested him to wait there
till he returned.
4. Sohan said, “How clever I am.”
Ans. Sohan exclaimed with
surprise/applause that he was very clever.
5. “Who are you and what do you want?” she said.
Ans.
She asked me who I was and what I wanted.
6. He said, “Have you anything to tell
me, Rozy?”
Ans. He asked Rozy if she had
anything to tell him.
7. She said to me, “What is the name of your brother?”
Ans. She asked me what the name of
my brother was.
8. They said, “May the king live long!”
Ans. They wished/prayed that the
king might live long.
9. I said to him, “Don’t move in the sun.”
Ans. I told/ordered him not to move
in the sun.
I forbade him to move in the sun.
10. She said to the beggar, “How much do you want?”
Ans. She asked the beggar how much
he wanted.
11. He said to him, “Isn’t your name Ravi?”
Ans. He asked him if his name was
not (wasn't) Ravi.
12. She said to her father, “When will you buy me a frock?”
Ans. She asked her father when he
would buy her a frock.
13. Ram said, “God is Almighty.”
Ans. Ram said that God is almighty.
14. He said to me, “My you live long!”
Ans. He blessed me that I might
live long.
15. He said to me, “Why did you laugh at me?”
Ans. He asked me why I had laughed
at him.
16. He says to me, “What were you doing with my toy?”
Ans. He asks me what I was doing
with his toys.
17. The teacher said, “the earth moves round the sun.”
Ans. The teacher said that the
earth moves round the sun.
18. He said,: What a fine picture!”
Ans. He exclaimed with surprise
that it was a very fine picture.
19. He says to me, “I Shall help you if you help me.”
Ans. He tells me that he will help
me if I help him.
20. He said to them, “I was waiting for you.”
Ans. He told them that he had been
waiting for them.
21. He said, “I am now speaking to this
boy.”
Ans. He said that he was then
speaking to that boy.
22. He said, “It is not so foggy today
as it was yesterday.”
Ans. He said that it was not so
foggy that day as it had been the previous day.
23. “Okay, I will come again tomorrow”, he said.

He said that he would come again the next/following day.
24. He said to her, “Why did you give up your study?”
Ans. He asked her why she had given
up her study.
25. I said to him, “How can you prove that she loved you?”
Ans. I asked him how I could prove
that she loved him.
26. He said, “What is the problem here?”
Ans. He asked what the problem was
there.
27. The teacher said, “Don’t shout when I am in the class.”
Ans. The teacher ordered not to
shout when he/she was in the class.
Ans. The teacher forbade to shout
when he/she was in the class.
28. The doctor said to me, “Take the medicine in time.”
Ans. The doctor advised me to take
medicine in time.
29. He said, “My sons, don’t waste your time.”
Ans. He advised us not to waste our
time.
He forbade us to waste our time.
30. The leader said, “Long live our unity!”
Ans. The leader wished that their
unity might live long.
31. The woman said, “May you die of cholera!”
Ans. The woman cursed me that I
might die of cholera.
32. He said to me, “I wanted to help you but I am not going to help you because you have
never been kind to me.”
Ans. He told me that he had wanted
to help me but he was not going to help me because I had never been kind to
him.
33. He said to me “How much money can you give me for the service I have done to you?”
Ans. He asked me how much money I
could give him for the had done to me.
34. Ramu said, “What a place!”
Ans. Ramu exclaimed with
surprise/applause that it was a fine place.
35. “stop this horrible noise, ”he said.
Ans. He ordered to stop that
horrible noise.
36. The prince said, “It given me great pleasure to be here this evening.”
Ans. The prince said that it gave
him great pleasure to be there that evening.
